WESTBOROUGH, MA November 29, 2015 The quote above references the circa 1990 belief about concussion also known as mild traumatic brain injury. Some believed at that time that there was no such thing as post-concussion syndrome. We now know that belief was short sighted. Because nothing showed up on typical radiographs or computer tomography scans patients were thought to be just fine. And most were fine in short order. It is now understood that some patients have lingering symptoms of concussion including frequent headaches, sensitivity to sound and light, irritability, anxiety and more. A more complete understanding of PCS (Sefton, 2014) can be found on this blog.
