“As soon as I start working out…”

WESTBOROUGH, MA June 12, 2016 “As soon as I start to work out I get slightly dizzy and have a headache” according to John, age 45.  John fell in soft sand while riding his bicycle. He is an avid runner and cyclist and did not expect that this could happen to him. He was not rendered unconscious by the fall but knew he had hit face first on the hard ground. Postconcussion syndrome can effect anyone who may have suffered a concussive injury.  The resumption of physical activity should be controlled and follow a sequence of re-exertion activities. “PCS may interfere with the patient’s return to work by reducing productivity and perhaps the blossoming of symptoms later on.  This should be followed by a physician or concussion specialist”, according to Michael Sefton, Ph.D.
